If you say Roter Veltliner, you’re saying Fritz!
We stand for great Roter Veltliner. It grows in our historic Wagram vineyards on loess, sandstone and tertiary gravel.
We as a family do not continually strive for growth, but are happy and satisfied with 17 hectares of the best vineyards. Being satisfied in the sense of being grounded, and getting the best out of what is available by striving for the highest quality. Our greatest achievements are wines that bring you beautiful moments.

The new sparkling´s
The new vintage of our sparkling wine is here! Both are Pinot Noir, both are Grand Reserves, and both are from the 2020 vintage. The grapes come from a vineyard planted with 35-year-old Pinot Noir vines. Calcareous loess subsoil and an east-facing exposure are two prerequisites that create optimal conditions for our sparkling wine in cool years.

We fulfilled a dream in 2019. Our own small restaurant in a 300-year-old farmhouse next to the winery, which we renovated with great respect for the old walls. The dining room of the restaurant, named after the single site located behind, seats just 24 people. Since 2022, Styrian Marco Gangl has been working in the kitchen. After years at the Frantzen restaurant in Stockholm, the Bacher country house in the Wachau region, and the Bründlmayer winery in the Kamptal valley, he has now settled here in Wagram.

Rising star of the year at VINARIA
"Rising Star of the Year and New to the Olympus of 5-Crown Winemakers"
We are delighted to receive these awards from the Austrian wine magazine VINARIA and to be acclaimed in its five-crown category (the highest rating).
In addition to the Roter Veltliner Ried Steinberg 1ÖTW Privat, the Roter Veltliner "Josef vs. Johannes" was also awarded five stars.

MATURE WINES
Our new reserve aging area in the old cellar.
The solid loess soil in our region is home to many beautiful historic cellars. Two of these belong to our winery, one of which we have adapted, after a long planning phase, as a reserve cellar for our current harvests.
With the 2016 vintage, we put aside a certain amount of some of our wines, and will only bring them to market some years later. On the one hand, because we ourselves love more mature wines and can follow their development better. And on the other hand, because there is an increasing interest in such products on the part of the hospitality industry and private customers.

Wagram Terrassen
Roter Veltliner 2024
CLASSIC
A red veltliner that does not deny its origin; piquant nose, harmonious, very forceful wine, ripe with a spicy finish; this roter veltliner comes from three loess vineyards whose oldest site is planted with vines more than 60 years old. Hand-picked, carefully selected and pressed.

0,75l/1,5l • 13 Vol.% - dry

Ried Steinberg
Roter Veltliner 2023
SINGLE-SITE
Delicate nutty biscuit notes, fine blossom honey, yellow fruit; a fresh, crisp texture on the palate, well-rounded at the core, with a good length, pleasant fruit sweetness in the finish, potential for 10 years aging; a Roter Veltliner from one of the best locations in the Wagram, fermented spontaneously and matured in large wooden barrels for four months. Very powerful, fine and minerally flavor.

Ried Mordthal
Roter Veltliner 2023

From the loess comes the nutty spice, from limestone the fruit variety. A true olfactory experience. Wit and ripeness, brilliant on the palate with power and strength. Great wine that ideally combines varietal and place of origin.

Ried Steinberg Privat
Roter Veltliner 2023
SINGLE-SITE
Roter Veltliner with the aromas of ripe pineapples and hints of passion fruit and grapefruit. In addition to this, there are characteristic hints of honey, vineyard peaches and a fine precious wood flavor. In the reverberation, very mineral and salty nuances emphasize the aroma.

Josef vs Johannes
ROTER VELTLINER 2021
The Roter Veltliner Josef vs. Johannes is a wine that combines two ideas of a characterful and long-lasting Roter Veltliner. Fine yellow fruits, juicy and rich in extracts, are supported by tight and almost chalky spice. A complex and fine acid structure makes the wine a modern food companion with reliable aging potential for years.
